  • How do I book an activity?
    Simple! You can book online on our website, message us on WhatsApp, call, or even send a carrier pigeon (okay, email works too).
  • Can I book in advance?
    Of course, it’s a great idea! Some activities sell out quickly, so booking earlier guarantees your spot without stress. If you need to, you can cancel up to 24 hours before and get a full refund. Our booking team will get in touch to finalize the details!
  • Can I book an activity for a large group?
    Absolutely! If you have 9 or more adventurers ready for fun, talk to us, and we’ll take care of all the details.
  • What if I want a private experience?
    We’d love to help! Just get in touch, and we’ll tailor the experience to your preferences. Everything at your pace and to your liking!
  • What if I have doubts or problems booking the activity?
    No worries! Just contact us! You can call, message us on WhatsApp, or send an email. We’re ready to help, and if you prefer, we can make the reservation for you and send the confirmation email. It’s quick and easy!
  • How do I pay for memorable adventures?
    No hassle! We accept all practical payment methods: credit cards, MBWay, and bank transfers. Got a voucher or gift card? It’s valid too!
 

  • What if I need to change the date of the activity, how do I do that?
    No problem! We just ask that you let us know as soon as possible and no later than 24 hours before the activity, so we can reschedule. After all, even schedules need a little flexibility!
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    For online bookings, cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance guarantee a full refund, which may take up to 30 days to process. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance or no-shows will result in the total loss of the booking amount. For personalized programs, such as tailor-made activities or groups with multiple activities, cancellation policies are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, depending on the commitments and partners involved.

    Our guides speak both Portuguese and English, ensuring that you feel comfortable and that nothing is lost during your adventure!
  • Are all the guides locals/residents of the island?
    Yes, all our guides are locals or residents of the island! They know the destination like the back of their hand and are ready to share the best tips and stories with you.
  • Is there time for selfies and a snack break?
    Of course! Our motto is: explore, have fun, and record. We want you to have plenty of memories to look back on (and share on Instagram, of course).
  • Is there a special price for children?
    Yes, we offer a 25% discount for children between 6 and 12 years old! This way, the kids can enjoy themselves, and parents don’t have to worry as much about the wallet!
  • What happens if I get injured during an activity?
    Don’t worry! Fun Activities includes insurance for all activities and takes care of everything for you. Just have fun while we handle the rest. If you already have your own insurance, it will be considered as additional coverage.
  • Can I participate in all activities if I’m pregnant?
    To ensure everyone’s safety (including the baby’s), some activities are not recommended for pregnant women unless the doctor gives the green light. However, since your doctor might not be aware of all the activity details, their approval may not be sufficient.
  • Should I inform you if I have any health issues or physical conditions?
    Yes, of course! If you have any health issues or physical conditions, let us know, so we can avoid any surprises during the ‘adventure’!
  • Where can I leave my belongings while on the activity?
    You can leave your belongings in our van or in your car, and if needed, we can keep the keys safe to ensure everything stays secure. This way, you can enjoy the activity worry-free!
 
  • What should I bring for water activities?
    For water activities, wear your swimsuit, tie your hair back, bring a towel, and, if needed, a change of clothes. Oh, and don’t forget your water bottle and sunscreen. For more specific details, check the “What to Bring” section in each activity’s description.
  • What should I bring for land activities?
    For land activities, it’s always good to wear comfortable, waterproof clothing and shoes, plus a windbreaker. And of course, bring a water bottle and sunscreen to stay protected while you have fun! For more specific details, check the “What to Bring” section in each activity’s description.
 
  • Do all activities include photos and videos?
    Not yet, but we’re working on it! For now, only Canyoning, Coasteering, and Kayaking activities include photos and videos. Who knows, this might be our next update!
  • Do I have to pay to receive the photos and videos?
    The photos and videos are on us, at no extra cost! It’s our little treat to you, included in the activity price. We would like to ask for your permission to use your photos for commercial and marketing purposes. If you’re not comfortable with this, please let us know.
  • When will I receive the photos and videos from my activity?
    Within 72 hours of the activity, you’ll receive a link in your email with all the photos and videos! Don’t forget to check your junk or spam folder (just to be sure). If you don’t see anything, let us know! And of course, leave us a review and share your experience.

 

  • Exploring makes you hungry… do all activities include food?
    Currently, only Full Day activities include a meal/picnic! Check your activity details for more info.
  • Are the meals suitable if I have any allergies or dietary restrictions?
    Yes, of course! Just let us know in advance, and we’ll adapt the meal to meet your needs. We want you to have fun and eat safely!

 

 

 

Canyoning

  • Are Canyoning activities suitable for everyone?
    Some activities are perfect for almost all ages. However, there are some restrictions to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment. Each tour on our website has information about the minimum age to help you plan easily.
  • Is canyoning equipment included?
    Yes, the price of the activity includes all the necessary canyoning equipment: full harness, wetsuit, socks, helmet, and boots. Everything is set up so that you just have to worry about enjoying the adventure!
  • Can I bring my own equipment?
    If you have your own equipment, feel free to bring it along. Just let us know so we can check what you have.
  • Can I bring my GoPro during the activity?
    Of course! We have mounts available for you to bring your GoPro and capture the best moments! If that’s the case, let us know, and we’ll make sure everything is set for your adventure!
  • What if the weather is bad? Will the fun be ruined?
    Relax! Usually, Canyoning activities are not canceled due to weather, as they are quite flexible. Our guides will always check the safety of the location and the weather before the tour. Don’t let a little rain ruin your fun!
 
Canyoning Experience
  • Are jumps mandatory?
    Our Canyoning Experience is super flexible! Jumps are completely optional, and if you don’t feel comfortable, we always have alternatives to ensure you have fun just the same.
  • How high is the biggest jump?
    The biggest jump is about 6 meters, just enough to give you a good adrenaline rush!
  • How high is the tallest rappel?
    The tallest rappel is about 14 meters – an unmissable descent! However, this rappel is only available during certain times of the year and depending on the group size. Check the note on our website for more details.
  • I don’t want to do the activity, but I’d like to accompany someone during the activity, is it possible?
    Unfortunately, it’s not possible. To complete the course, you must enter the river. However, you can explore the Ribeira dos Caldeirões Park while waiting for your group. If you’d like a snack, there’s a small café inside the park.
  • What’s the difference between this tour and the Salto do Cabrito tour?
    The Canyoning Experience is a more flexible tour with less walking and includes rappels, jumps, and natural slides. The Salto do Cabrito is a more technical activity with higher rappels and also includes a zip line. Jumps on this tour depend on weather conditions.

  • Does this activity include jumps?
    The jumps on this tour depend on weather conditions and the riverbed, which can vary frequently. Even with good weather, it is not always possible to guarantee there will be jumps.
  • What is the height of the highest rappel?
    The tallest rappel is about 16 meters – an unmissable descent!
  • Is the activity held in the Areal de Santa Bárbara area?
    No. The Areal de Santa Bárbara parking lot is our meeting point, but the activity takes place at a different location. Just follow our guides’ van to the destination.
  • What’s the difference between this tour and the Canyoning Experience?
    Canyoning Salto do Cabrito is a more technical activity, with higher rappels and also includes a zip line. The jumps on this tour depend on weather conditions. The Canyoning Experience, on the other hand, is a more flexible tour with less walking time and includes rappels, jumps, and natural slides.
 

Canyoning Lombadas and Praia

  • Does this activity require prior experience?
    Since these are more advanced tours, prior experience with activities involving climbing, rappelling, and high altitudes is essential. This ensures everything goes safely and you feel confident throughout the experience.
  • What is the height of the highest rappel?
    In both tours, the tallest waterfall is approximately 45 meters high.
  • How can I make a reservation?
    To reserve, just contact our booking team. We’ll be happy to help with availability and details!
  • What if the minimum number of participants is not reached?
    If we don’t reach the minimum of 3 participants, we’ll get in touch with you. We suggest making a pre-booking, and as soon as there are more interested participants, we’ll let you know. If you’d prefer to go ahead with the tour, you can opt to pay the price for 3 participants.
 

 

Coasteering

  • Is the coasteering activity suitable for everyone?
    This activity is perfect for taking kids on an unforgettable adventure! From the age of 8, they can join us and have an exciting time.
  • Is coasteering equipment included?
    Yes, the activity price includes all the necessary equipment for coasteering: full harness, wetsuit, socks, helmet, boots, and life jackets. Everything is prepared so you only have to worry about enjoying the adventure!
  • I have my own equipment, can I bring it?
    If you have all the equipment, you can bring it along. We just ask that you contact us to let us know what you have.
  • I wear glasses, what should I do?
    Secure your glasses with a strap, and if you’re going in the water, place them inside your wetsuit. Contact lenses in the water? Not a good idea!
  • What if the weather is bad? Will the fun be ruined?
    Don’t worry! If the activity is canceled due to bad weather, such as adverse sea conditions, we offer several options: reschedule, swap for another experience, or if you prefer, cancel with a full refund. Your satisfaction is our priority!
 

 

E-bike

  • Is the equipment included in the activity?
    Yes, all the equipment is included! Helmets, gloves, first aid kit, repair kit, insurance, lock cable, and reflective vest – all designed to ensure your safety and comfort.
  • Is wearing a helmet mandatory?
    Yes. According to Portuguese legislation, wearing a helmet is mandatory for cycling activities. At Fun Activities, we follow this regulation and provide helmets for all participants to ensure your safety during the ride. Let’s pedal safely!
  • Is it possible to carry babies on the bike during the activity?
    Not yet, but we’re working on it so it can happen soon! Stay tuned for updates!
  • Are bikes available for children?
    Yes, we have bikes for children who are at least 150 cm tall. Please let us know the heights in advance to ensure the right size. For younger children, we have regular bikes, and soon, electric bikes too. Enjoy the adventure!
  • What if the weather is bad?
    Don’t worry! If the activity is canceled due to bad weather, we have several options: reschedule, swap for another activity/itinerary, or if none of them work for you, we guarantee a full refund.

 

Kayaking

  • Can I go inside the Vila Franca Islet year-round?
    Not always! Vila Franca Islet is a protected area, and sometimes even nature needs a break. Therefore, there are access restrictions depending on the season!
  • So, what can I do on this activity at different times of the year?
    Depending on the season, you can do snorkeling inside or outside the islet or explore the islet on foot (without losing your breath)! We have a chart on the activity page to help you understand what you can do during each season.
  • Is the price of this activity the same throughout the year?
    No… When there are restrictions on the activity, the price adjusts: discounts from 25% to 35% to balance things out!
  • How many people can each kayak carry?
    The tandem kayaks (2 seats + 1 child) can support up to 160 kg. If you exceed this limit, contact the booking team to discuss alternatives! We also have individual Makao kayaks, with a recommended weight limit of 90 kg. Let’s go, adventure awaits!
  • What if the weather is bad?
    If the weather doesn’t cooperate, don’t worry! We can reschedule or, during high season, take a boat to the islet. Pay for the ticket through the link provided by our guides, and we’ll fully refund your reservation. We’re here to ensure the best experience!
 

 

Hiking Tours

  • Do all trails last for a full day?
    Yes, all our hiking activities are full-day experiences. Get ready for a day of pure exploration and adventure!
  • Does the official hiking trail last 8 hours?
    Our activities are divided into two parts! We start with a trail that lasts between 3 to 5 hours (check the estimated time on the activity page), then you can enjoy our picnic before exploring a special corner of the island! The itinerary can be adjusted based on the group and weather conditions.
  • Is pick-up service always included in the activity price?
    Yes, we’ll pick you up and drop you off at your accommodation in Ponta Delgada, so you can make the most of the day with our guides. For locations outside of Ponta Delgada, the client should contact us to check pick-up/drop-off options and any additional costs. Along the way, we’ll share interesting facts and stories about the island’s landscapes.
  • Are there trails recommended for children?
    We don’t have trails exclusively for children, but if they have the energy of a true adventurer, they can join the hike! Recommended for young explorers from the age of 8.
  • What happens if the weather conditions are not favorable for the hike?
    If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we can reschedule, adjust the itinerary, or swap for another activity. If none of these options are viable, we guarantee a full refund. If you decide to go ahead with the hike, even if the conditions aren’t ideal, no refund will be issued.
