ITINERARY 1: Inside Caldeira of Sete Cidades
Enjoy a nature and cultural tour with an easy bike ride along the banks of the unique Lagoa Azul (“Blue Lagoon“) and Lagoa Verde (“Green Lagoon“), stopping at various points of interest while cycling through dirt trails, parks and the quaint village of Sete Cidades.

DESCRIPTION: At the starting point, we will spend around 15 minutes to give you a quick safety briefing, a demonstration on how to use your E-Bike and all its functions, show you how to use your GPS tracker and map, and hand out your equipment. Once you are set up, you’re ready to go and have fun!
From Lagoa Azul (“Blue Lagoon“) you will visit the Tunnel of Sete Cidades and go through the village, passing by the Parish Church of Sao Nicolau and its gardens. Witness first hand the traditional way of life of the locals by visiting the shrine dedicated to the Holy Spirit, stop at the local bakery for some freshly baked homemade bread, cycle by traditional rural houses and take in the beauty of nature at Lagoa Verde (“Green Lagoon“). Crossing the bridge dividing the green and blue lagoons, you will cycle along the banks of Lagoa Azul, going to the Peninsula and ending in the peaceful picnic area of Baia do Silencio (“Silence Bay“).

ITINERARY 2: Caldeira of Sete Cidades & Cumeeira Pequena
Take a better look at the best Sete Cidades has to offer! Cycle along the banks of Lagoa Azul and Lagoa Verde (“Blue Lagoon and Green Lagoon“), visit the viewpoints of Lagoa do Santiago (“Lagoon of Santiago“), Lagoa Rasa (“Shallow Lagoon“) and Vista do Rei (“Kings’ View Viewpoint“) and take a thrilling bike ride around Cumeeira Pequena (“Small Summit Rim“).

Setting off, you will head over the bridge dividing Lagoa Azul (“Blue Lagoon”) and Lagoa Verde (“Green Lagoon”) enjoying the lakeside view towards the Peninsula and the peaceful picnic area of Baia do Silencio (“Silence Bay“). Heading back to the bridge along easy dirt tracks, up next you will encounter a long and steep ascent on the main road, along which you can stop at the viewpoints of Lagoa de Santiago (“Santiago Lagoon“) and Cerrado das Freiras (“Nuns Haven”). Continuing onwards and upwards till finally reaching Vista do Rei (“Kings’ View Viewpoint“) for a magnificent view of the lagoons below and the abandoned Hotel Monte Palace behind you. Prepare yourself as a more adventurous trail lies ahead, taking you along Cumeeira Pequena (“Small Summit Rim“) on a graveled road. Passing the Lomba do Vasco Viewpoint, you will finish the tour going down through the heart of the village of Sete Cidades, passing by the Parish Church of Sao Nicolau and its gardens, leading you back to Lagoa Azul.

ITINERARY 3: Caldeira of Sete Cidades & Lagoa do Canário & Cumeeira Grande
An adventurous bike ride requiring an adequate level of fitness, cycling around Cumeeira Grande (“Big Summit Rim“) of Sete Cidades, passing by various viewpoints and points of interest along the way that are well worth breaking a sweat over.

DESCRIPTION: At the starting point, we will spend around 15 minutes to give you a quick safety briefing, a demonstration on how to use your E-Bike and all its functions, show you how to use your GPS tracker and map, and hand out your equipment. Once you are set up, you’re ready to go and have fun!
Setting off with an easy warm up along the banks of Lagoa Azul (“Blue Lagoon“), taking you to the Peninsula, the peaceful picnic area of Baia do Silencio (“Silence Bay“) and through dirt roads back to the bridge. Your tour then takes you up a long, steep and winding main road, along which you may stop at the viewpoints of Lagoa de Santiago (“Lagoon of Santiago“) and Cerrado das Freiras (“Nuns Haven”). Continuing onwards and upwards around Lagoa de Santiago, taking a short but exciting detour up through an overgrown trail to the hidden viewpoint of Lagoa Rasa (“Shallow Lagoon“). Back on the main road, you will continue ascending until you reach the park hosting Lagoa do Canário (“Canary Lagoon“). You may leave your bicycle in the parking area and walk up to the famous viewpoint of Boca do Inferno. Back on the main road again, you will be pass by the old aqueducts and Muro das Nove Janelas (“Wall of Nine Windows“), from which a more adventurous trail awaits, starting with a long steep incline up to Cumeeira Grande (“Big Summit Rim“) where you will enjoy magnificient views at Pico da Cruz (“Peak of the Cross”), and have fun on the graveled trail winding down, up and around the Big Caldeira Rim until reaching the Miradouro das Cumeeiras (“Viewpoint of the Ridge”). The rest of the trail will continue taking you around the rim with views to the lagoons on one side and views to the seaside village of Mosteiros on the other. The final part of this tour will take you down through the village of Sete Cidades, passing the Parish Church of São Nicolau, and finishing back at the Blue Lagoon.
ITINERARY 4: Lagoa do Canário / Cumeeira Grande & Vista do Rei / Cumeeira Pequena
This is our most adventurous tour, visiting all the main highlights of Sete Cidades while taking you up steep inclines, covering hard terrain and ending with a downhill track, making it the ideal tour for experienced cyclists with a taste for adrenaline.

DESCRIPTION: At the starting point, we will spend around 15 minutes to give you a quick safety briefing, a demonstration on how to use your E-Bike and all its functions, show you how to use your GPS tracker and map, and hand out your equipment. Once you are set up, you’re ready to go and have fun!
You will start with a relaxed ride to warm you up, crossing the bridge between Lagoa Azul (“Blue Lagoon“) and Lagoa Verde (“Green Lagoon“) and taking a dirt track along the banks of Lagoa Azul. Going around the Peninsula, passing the peaceful picnic area of Baía do Silêncio (“Silence Bay“) before heading back to the bridge, you will head up the long steep main road, along which you may stop at the viewpoints of Lagoa de Santiago (“Santiago Lagoon“) and Cerrado das Freiras (“Nuns Haven”). Going around Lagoa de Santiago via the main road, you will take a short but exciting detour through an overgrown graveled track, taking you up to a hidden viewpoint of Lagoa Rasa (“Shallow Lagoon“). Back on the main road you will make your way up until reaching the park hosting Lagoa do Canario (“Canary Lagoon“), where you will enter for a quick visit to the lagoon and head deeper into the park, where you may leave your bicycle to go check out on foot the famous viewpoint of Boca do Inferno. Heading back onto the main road, your tour will take you down past the old aqueduct system and Muro das Nove Janelas (“Wall of Nine Windows“), where lying ahead will be a more adventurous trail, starting with a long and steep ascent reaching Pico da Cruz (“Peak of the Cross”) where you will be rewarded with spectacular 360º views. The trail continues winding up, down and around Cumeeira Grande (“Big Summit Rim“) on a graveled road passing by the Miradouro das Cumeeiras (“Viewpoint of the Ridge”), and continuing onwards all the way around the Cumeeira Grande. Passing the viewpoint of Lomba do Vasco you will start the graveled track onto Cumeeira Pequena (“Small Summit Rim“) enjoying views from a different perspective onto the lagoons, the village below and the sea view to Mosteiros on the other side. The Cumeeira Pequena trail ends at the popular viewpoint of Vista do Rei (“Kings’ View“), where you will get ready for an adrenaline rush, as the last part of the tour will take you on a 3 km downhill track. Starting with a steep descent on a graveled road which will lead you to a narrow off the beaten track route (which is often muddy, wet and overgrown), passing through the forest until ending at Lagoa Verde.
